Steve Teets

Steve started racing in 1980 and has competed in many different classes. After driving cars built by other people for six years and developing his own ideas on race car designs, in 1986 he built his first car from the ground up. Steve's first car was designed and built to compete in the Super Stock class at Cajon Speedway.  As a driver Steve wanted a car he could rely on. In 1988 Steve built a Southwest Tour Car, a Dodge Daytona and was the driver of that car until 1991 when he built another Southwest Tour Car, a Chrysler Lebaron. In 1990 Steve started to design and fabricate STR Spindles which have been a great success. From 1994 to 1998 Steve was the Crew Chief for Jerry Gay who won the Championship in 1996 and Jerry came in 2nd in points in 1997. In 1997 Steve was named True Value Pacific Coast Region Mechanic of the Year by a vote of his peers. In 1998 he was named Cajon Speedway Mechanic of the Year, again by a vote of his peers.

Steve's desire to provide the highest quality racecar chassis and custom built racecars, with a commitment to excellence and a dedication to client satisfaction is the driving force behind Short Track Racecars.
